Weekly Food & Fitness Plan #18

Well, are you surviving the holidays? I think this past week is one of the fastest I have ever had. Having a few extra days off from work definitely helped, too.

Camden ended up coming down with croup (again) so his surgery was postponed a week. Instead of Christmas Eve, he is now scheduled to have it on New Year's Eve. I wish they would have told us this before we got up at 3:30 in the morning and made the trip down there. But what can you do? So once again, if you happen to think of it, thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

So, I didn't do as well as I had wanted to this past week with me eating or exercising. Again, it's those extra days off of work that throw me off. When I get away from my structured days, everything gets thrown off. Hopefully, I will do better this week, but not holding my breath on that one. Maybe soon though.

2014 Ideas

Since 2013 is winding down, I wanted to get some input from all of you about what you would like to see on the blog in 2014. I'd really like to get back to posting some new recipes. I know I won't be able to post a recipe every day like I was doing for a while, but I would like to try to get one recipe post a week up. Since my hubby gave me some fancy schmancy studio lighting equipment, I'm hoping to give you some better looking pictures, too.

So what kinds of foods would you like to see? Healthy, not so healthy? A mixture of the two? I would love to hear from all of you with any thought and/or suggestions you might have for us.

Looking forward, it's looking like we're going to have a busy year ahead of us. We have a cruise the end of January, planning a trip to Asheville, NC in February, probably another trip to PA and thinking about a visit to see Mickey and his friends in Orlando, too. So, you can be sure that I will be including more lifestyle posts. Because, let's face it, you just can't get enough of these two cuties!

So please take a minute to leave a comment about what you have or haven't liked so far and any ideas you might have for me. I love to hear from you all!

So long for today...

And Even Another Bestowed Review

The amazing people at Bestowed were feeling the holiday spirit and decided to offer me another box to review. Of course I took them up on this offer! Seriously, I think every box gets better and better. This one had a little bit of everything included in it. This is the third Bestowed box that I have reviewed. If you're new to Bestowed, check out my other posts about them here and here.
This month's box had on-the-go snacks as well as a dip to mix up, a simmer sauce to try and also some chicken broth that I can always use! I think the item I was most excited about was the Kind bar.
I've seen these and heard so many great things about them, I was happy when I saw one in there. It was the first thing I tried out of the box. It didnt disappoint either. It had great flavors and I love that it only has 5g of sugar. Definitely going to have to try to find these in the store.
So, the great people at Bestowed are feeling generous and have a great offer for all of you. If you order before December 31st, you can get your own Bestowed box for only $10. Since they're usually $19, that's a pretty awesome deal. To get the discount, simply use the discount code HELLOYUM40 at checkout. You can even give a 3, 6 and 12-month gift subscription to a friend or family member. So what are you waiting for, head on over to their site by clicking here, and order your box for you and maybe a friend or two. They'll definitely tha k you for it!

If you try Bestowed, I would love to hear your thoughts. Come back and leave me a comment to let me know.

So long for today...

Weekly Food and Fitness Plan #17

Happy Holidays everyone! Only 3 shopping days left until Christmas! Are you ready? Ready or not...Christmas is coming! I have one gift that I realized is wrapped in Santa's paper that shouldn't be. After I correct that, I think I will be ready!

Last week was a bust for my eating and exercising. I'm so far off-plan it's ridiculous. I'm cutting myself some slack until after New Years. After that, I'm going to put my game face on and buckle back down.

I'm off work now until Friday. Which is very nice. It gives me time to enjoy the holidays. The only thing is that Camden is having oral surgery on Christmas Eve morning. I'm sure everything will go well, but that isn't keeping me from worrying about it. If you think of it, please send some thoughts and prayers our way Tuesday morning.

Weekly Food & Fitness Plan #16

Hi friends! I hope you're all having a great weekend and that you're all staying warm and/or dry. It's been a pretty wet weekend down here for us. We went to see our holiday light display last night, but some of the lights were out because of the rain. But we still had a great time!

This past week has been very sweet for me. Last Sunday, I made 5 different kinda of fudge. Friday, I made pecan brittle, chocolate peanut clusters and some pretzel toffee bark. They all turned out great! Today, my mom and sister came over for us to bake cookies. We made 5 different kinds and had a great time doing it. We really don't need the cookies. It's just a fun tradition that we have. It's nice to carry on those traditions.

Needless to say, I've been eating way too many treats this past week, so I really need to get some healthy eats in this coming week.

Southern Living Yankee

Here's what I have planned:
Food:
Sunday - Chicken Noodle Soup
Monday - Grilled Honey Lime Chicken
Tuesday - Spaghetti & Meatballs
Wednesday - Grilled Kielbasa
Thursday - Leftovers
Friday - Grilled Hamburgers
Saturday - Cheesy Stuffed Shells

Fitness:
Sunday - 3 mile run
Monday - 3 mile run
Tuesday - 30 day Shred - Level 2
Wednesday - Yoga Meltdown - Level 2
Thursday - 30 Day Shred
Friday - 3 mile run
Saturday - 3 mile run

The last few days have been pretty busy for me, so I haven't gotten a lot of exercises in.  I promise you that I am and will continue to keep trying to sneak some in!

I hope you all have a great week!

I even have everything that has already been delivered wrapped. Even the ones from Santa. I know, I know. Quit rolling your eyes. I've never been this far ahead of the game before. I'm feeling pretty proud of myself right now.

Last week ended up being way off plan. Most of the dinners were different from what I had planned. It just ended up being hectic and things changed. So this week is going to have a lot of the same meals I had planned last week.
